The community is located just 7 miles north of Interstate 40 - the key east-west commercial U.S. interstate Highway. It is just minutes away from Tinker AFB and Logistics Center - the world' largest jet engine maintenance center. The community offers several choice sites, a productive workforce, municipal airport, low cost of doing business and customized industry training at nearby Gordon Cooper Career Tech - one of the nation's premier educational and training institutions.
Quality of Life
Located in Lincoln County, the city was originally settled by Czech immigrants in 1891, who gave their new town the name "Prague." It is home to quality schools, growing businesses and shops and restaurants. It is a safe place to live and raise a family with a cost of living 20% below the U.S. average.
On the first Saturday of May each year Prague hosts an annual 'Kolache Festival' - the Czech celebration which features the fruit-filled pastry, named for the event. Over 25,000 visitors fill the streets to celebrate the Czech culture brought from the 'old country.'
Visit the Prague Historical Museum, or walk the meditative grounds of the National Shrine of the Infant Jesus of Prague at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church. The 300 year old shrine was re-established here when Prague, Czechoslovakia fell behind the Iron Curtain. Jim Thorpe Boulevard, which is named for the town's most famous son, the Olympic athlete Jim Thorpe.
