BP, one of the world’s largest oil and gas companies, is preparing to open what would be one of its first satellite offices in the Pontiac Building on Automobile Alley.
Brett Clanton, spokesman for BP, confirmed the deal on Wednesday, saying the company’s Lower 48 Onshore subsidiary leased the second floor, and part of the first floor, about 14,000 square feet, of the Pontiac Building, 1100 N Broadway.
The subsidiary is led by Dave Lawler, former chief operation officer at SandRidge Energy, and the new operation will support its Mid-Continent business. BP holds about 1.2 million net acres in the Mid-Continent region (Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas) and produces about 85,000 oil equivalent barrels per day.
