Boeing is breaking ground on a new $80 million lab and research facility just across the street from its current campus.

"For those that question, is this a big deal? It's a very big deal," Mayor Mick Cornett said.

The new building will be the third in Boeing's existing campus, and will open next summer. It'll have room for up to 800 positions, mostly relocations making an average of $90,000 a year, according to the city. Most of the jobs will center around engineering, research and development laboratories, and other support staff.
