Demographia: OKC top-ten major market for housing affordability

Urban planning/policy consultancy Demographia just released their 13th Annual Demographia International Housing Affordability Survey, utilizing 2016 3rd Quarter housing affordability data for metropolitan areas with a population over 1,000,000. The rankings were created from the median multiple, which is the median house price/median household income.

Most Affordable Major Housing Markets in the U.S. (by Median Multiple):

  1. Rochester, NY: 2.5
  2. Buffalo, NY: 2.6
  3. Cincinnati, OH: 2.7
  4. Cleveland, OH: 2.7
  5. Pittsburgh, PA: 2.7
  6. Oklahoma City, OK: 2.9
  7. St. Louis, MO: 2.9
  8. Detroit, MI: 3.0
  9. Grand Rapids, MI: 3.0
  10. Indianapolis, IN: 3.0
  11. Kansas City, MO: 3.0
