Manufacturing activity in a region that includes Oklahoma continues to expand, setting a record composite index level for the second consecutive month, a regional survey said Thursday.
The survey, conducted by the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, said the Tenth District manufacturing activity in May showed a composite index of 29. This is up from 26 in April and 17 in March.
“Our composite index rose to another record high in May, with continued optimism for future growth,” said Chad Wilkerson, vice president and economist at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. “Prices indexes were stable but remained at high levels.”
