The Mine comes to OKCPublished: Tuesday, August 14, 2018 By: Marcus Elwell Source: VeloCity
A nine-month program that focuses on community improvement is coming to Oklahoma City in the fall. The program, which is called The Mine, brings together young professionals who work to improve their community through social entrepreneurship. The Mine is currently looking for 10 fellows for its inaugural Oklahoma City program.
“A lot of times people think of the financial aspects of entrepreneurship. They think of the money that can be made,” said the Greater Oklahoma City Chamber’s Manager of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Evan Fay. “However, entrepreneurship is also about ideas that can change the world for the better. That is the type of thinking The Mine promotes.”
The Mine is the brainchild of the University of Oklahoma’s Ronnie K. Irani Center for the Creation Economic Wealth and has been taking place in Tulsa since 2013.
