BNSF Railway to build south OKC logistics center

Agricultural and industrial companies have a new option to locate along the railroad after BNSF Railway this week unveiled its newest logistics center in the south metro area.

The site straddles nearly two miles of track just east of Interstate 35 from south of Interstate 240 to NE 27 Street in Moore. The new logistics center is designed to accommodate two companies that need access to full trainloads and to accommodate three companies that ship by individual rail car.

"We have found that some companies are looking for sites and have a hard time finding what they need," BNSF spokesman Joe Sloan said. "Once we have the logistics center in place, we can offer customers an option to have a site with ready access without having to pay to build a rail spur to another location.
