Mom’s Meals, a provider of home-delivered meals for the health care industry, has expanded its national footprint with a third kitchen in Oklahoma City, the company said Monday.

The 140,300-square-foot facility will have a major capacity for producing meals to be delivered to homes of those in need of nutrition and wellness support.

The new facility currently employs 75 people. Plans are to add 25 or more in coming weeks.

Notably, the facility includes space to allow for considerable growth as needs may arise and could potentially accommodate more than 500 workers.

“Mom’s Meals is passionate about providing access to nutritious food that can help people live healthier, independent lives at home,” company President Chris Choi said in a news release. “By adding this centrally located kitchen, we are not only able to add jobs to the Oklahoma City community, but we are also able to serve even more individuals who need access to nutritious home-delivered meals across the country.”

Choi said Mom’s Meals works with public and private entities to find innovative ways to reduce food insecurity and use food as “medicine” to support better health.

The Oklahoma City kitchen adds to the company’s existing facilities in Grinnell, Iowa, and North Jackson, Ohio.

According to the release, Mom’s Meals provides fully prepared, refrigerated meals delivered directly to homes nationwide through programs to support long-term care, chronic care, and post-discharge care, as well as for individuals who are food-insecure. The company’s offerings include meals tailored to meet needs of individuals of all ages and allow them to better manage chronic health conditions, including diabetes, kidney disease, cancer, and heart disease.

Individuals may purchase meals directly, or they may qualify for meal benefits through their Medicaid or Medicare Advantage health insurance coverage or older adult program.
