CareerTech classes train students for jobs of today, tomorrow

The aerospace technology classes at Francis Tuttle Technology Center are training students for immediate openings and for jobs in emerging fields.
Employers are waiting to hire students who complete the aircraft sheet metal program at the Rockwell Campus, said Nick Powell, program developer.
“That’s been the technology for the last 100 years,” Powell said. Workers are needed to maintain all the large and small aircraft flying today.
Certified sheet metal workers can expect to make $20 to $22 an hour to start and more than $25 an hour within a year, he said.
