The University of Oklahoma is now the only school in the Southeastern Conference to offer a Professional Pilot – Helicopter Bachelor of Science degree.

State agency officials, city councilors and members of the OU and Norman business communities celebrated the official opening of Semper Fly Helicopters Wednesday morning.

The public-private partnership makes OU one of four universities in the U.S. with a helicopter flight school and the first to have a private business administer the curriculum. Semper Fly Helicopter Flight School will begin operation for the fall semester in conjunction with OU’s School of Aviation.
