Edmond ranks among top U.S. cities in 2025-26 Best Places to Live list

Edmond rankedNo. 22in U.S. News & World Report’s2025-26Best Places to Live, placing the city in the top 10% of more than850cities reviewed nationwide. 

The rankings evaluate cities based on value, job market, quality of life and desirability. U.S. News surveyed thousands of people about what matters most when choosing where to live. Analysts then scored locations using government data and proprietary resources. 

Edmond received high marks in the value category, which factors in housing costs and overall affordability. The city also scored well on the job market index, which reflects employment opportunities and income potential for residents. 

Edmond is one of several Oklahoma communities to make the top 250. Other cities in the state include: 

  • Broken Arrow — 12th 
  • Moore — 42nd 
  • Enid — 55th 
  • Oklahoma City — 96th 
  • Norman — 173rd 

While OKC rankedNo. 96overall, it earned the top spot on U.S. News’ list ofBest Big Cities to Live. 

“In other words, when compared to similarly sized cities, OKC is the best of them all,” said Erika Giovanetti, consumer lending analyst for U.S. News & World Report. “All told, Oklahoma City and many of its suburbs (Edmond, Moore and Norman) all made the top 250 Best Places to Live for 2025-2026, which is a testament to how cities in the OKC metro area balance quality of life with affordability and job opportunities.” 

U.S. News used data from the Census Bureau, Bureau of Labor Statistics, Federal Emergency Management Agency, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and other agencies.
