Billionaire oil executive Harold Hamm has donated a record-breaking $150 million to the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences campus to fund medical and scientific research, OU officials announced Tuesday.

The gift, the largest in the college’s history, officially renames the university’s health campus in Oklahoma City to the Harold Hamm Health Campus at the University of Oklahoma.

Hamm founded energy company Continental Resources in 1967 and made his mark on the industry through the widespread use of hydraulic fracturing (also known as fracking) to tap shale oil. Forbes estimates his net worth at roughly $19 billion as of September 2026.
